The article delves into the evolving roles of teachers in contemporary student-centered educational environment and the profound influence these roles have on nurturing students' values towards self-education. It underscores the importance of self-education in meeting the immediate needs of the school curriculum and equipping students with the skills necessary for their future endeavors. Highlighting a range of strategies such as inquiry-based projects, Problem-Based Learning (PBL), learning contracts, and peer teaching, the article suggests these approaches as pivotal in creating a learning atmosphere that promotes independence, critical thinking, and a proactive approach to education. These methods encourage students to take ownership of their learning journey, fostering a sense of curiosity and engagement that extends beyond the classroom. By adopting such student-centered teaching practices, educators play a crucial role in preparing students for a lifetime of learning, adapting to new challenges, and thriving in an ever-changing world. The article emphasizes the significance of teachers as facilitators and mentors who inspire students to embrace self-education as a valuable tool for personal and professional growth.
