Abstract

The 1930s was one of the hottest political and social periods in Soviet Armenia. The events and people of that period became prototypes for Yeghishe Charents, through which the poet presented the political image of Armenia of that period. Levon Arisyan and Amatuni Vardapetyan could not escape Charents' eyes. Levon Arisyan was the head of the propaganda and agitation department of the CPC Central Committee in 1934, and Amatuni Vardapetyan replaced the murdered Agassi Khanjyan and was the first secretary of the Central Committee in 1936-1937. These prototypes become the characters standing in the center of the event. In his works, Charents gives a political image and his attitude to the above-mentioned politicians. They embody historical and political information and serve as prototypes adhering to the principle of artistic representation.
