‘’NAVASARD’’ AS A MONTH AND HOLİDAY

Abstract

The article examines the word ‘’Navasard’’ discussing its origina and meaning. Some shcolars posit that it is an Iranian (Pershian) borrowing ( H. Adjzaryan, L. Hovhannisyan), othes mention that it is  Indian borrowing ( N. Alishan). According to some sources Navasard ( New Year) was celebrated in spring as it was the beginning of the year. As stated in  Agatangeghos  the holiday Navasard is dedicated to the joy of Navasard day.
