Transformations of basic and nuclear sentences in the Armenian language, i.e. phrases and compound words at the level of syntax perform a similar function, acting as the main members of the sentence, as well as attributes to the members expressed by the substantive. In the process of transformation, certain features are manifested in compound words, which appear in the form of complex and derived formations, and the derivatives of the formation can be of two types: prefixal and suffixal ones. Some suffixes correspond to certain case endings. In the transformation by the model of sentence-phrase-compound word, the function of transformation is performed by the verb, at the level of the phrase acting as the main member of the participial construction, and as part of a compound word – as a verbal base and the main component.
The syntactic commonality of nuclear sentences and their transformations is due to the logic of the transition: when the expression plan of a language unit changes, its content is preserved, which implies functional identity at the syntax level.
