Abstract

The COVID-19 pandemic, among other areas, determined the relevance of research in digitization and the need to accelerate digital transformation processes. It became clear that information technology during the pandemic significantly alleviated the economic and social problems that arose. One of the most apparent trends in the modern global economy is digital transformation and its rapid penetration into all spheres of human activity. The digitization of the economy brings about structural shifts in the panorama of the global economy, reformulating economic paradigms and universal assumptions. The scale and scope of digital transformation have, on the one hand, made the future closer, but on the other hand, it has led to increased uncertainties.

In this context, the main objective of this article is to discuss the features and trends of the implementation of the three waves of digitization in the global economy, as well as the challenges of digital transformation in the post-Covid period. It is concluded that the development and implementation of targeted digitization policies are crucial to meet the emerging challenges during and after the covid pandemic.
