The article presents analysis of economic situation in Armenia for 2016 and the indicators of expected results for 2017. At the same time, the situation in the region in terms of poverty, unemployment, GDP and economic growth in the framework of 11 countries is presented. Besides, for the first time there was an attempt to present a preliminary model for calculating the loss of business community using opportunities and emerging threats in terms of the situation and the business environment in the country. The amount of losses may vary
depending on the situation in the country, due to corruption, the informal economy, unequal competition and the presence of the oligarchy. At the same time, the article presents the foreign trade opportunities of Armenia with the EU and EEU countries.
