POSSIBILITIES AND DIRECTIONS OF USAGE OF RESULTS OF INVESTIGATIVE ACTIVITIES

Abstract

The article is devoted to identification and analysis of the role and significance of results of investigative activities, as well as the identification and analysis of the possibilities and directions of using them. 

Studying the existing inputs related to the topic in the professional literature, as well as concluding that the main directions of using the results of investigative activities are derived from the goals and issues of investigative activities and are based on the principles of investigative activities, we have proposed a comprehensive and logical way of classifying the main directions of using the results of investigative activities. Although the conclusions of the article are not exhaustive, they derive from requirements of the legislation and have practical significance. 

As a result of the analysis of the legislative regulations regarding the use of the results of investigative activities, we have concluded that collection, coordination and analysis of operative information, i.e. compilation of an investigative informational base, should be considered an important direction for increasing efficiency of usage of results of investigative activities. The possibilities of the latter can equally be used both in the detection of crimes and in the processes of their prevention, disruption and disclosure, as well as for the purpose of solving other problems faced by agencies conducting investigative activities. 

In conclusion, directions of using results of investigative activities, as well as problems solved through them, are diverse and derive from the general goals of investigative activities and criminal proceedings.
